ZZ the key
26/06/2006: France defender Eric Abidal says Zinedine Zidane is the key player to their hopes of beating Spain in the last 16.
Like Zidane, Abidal was suspended from the 2-0 victory against Togo and he believes that the former Real Madrid star's enforced absence will give him even more motivation to perform come Tuesday night.
Abidal, who ended up watching the Togo match on a TV in the dressing room, said that the fact ZZ knows every match could be the last of his career makes it all the more important to him.
He said: "He's ready. He only relishes high-level games and is frustrated he didn't play in the last game - just like me. We want to go forward in this competition and he's a born winner.
"He is coming to the end of his career and wants to finish on a high."
Meanwhile Abidal also thinks that Les Bleus are starting to hit peak form at just the right time.
The Lyon star added: "The physical trainer is doing a good job - that shows every game we play. We want to be 100% for every match."
