Zizou: I'm no role model
04/09/2006: French football legend Zinedine Zidane has urged youngsters to learn from the poor discipline he showed at the World Cup.
The France captain was a game away from a perfect farewell to his career, as he celebrated his retirement with a World Cup final appearance against Italy.
But Zidane's happy ending turned sour when he was sent off in disgrace for a violent headbutt on Italy defender Marco Materazzi.
Zidane wants France's future players to learn from his mistakes.
"Children are here to learn things, it is part of their education," Zidane told French television station Tf1. "I know what everybody is thinking about, but that is in the past.
"I hope none of those children ever do such a gesture in their lives. Anyway, I am here to tell them not to do it. I told my own children the same thing."
Zidane was speaking at the Danone Nations Cup - the equivalent of a children's World Cup.

22/01/2008: Zidane is truly the greatest footballer to ever play the game. Coming in the open to give such advice is a wonderful thing to do. Kudos to Zidane.
