Xavi boost for Spain
30/04/2006: Spanish midfielder Xavi made his comeback for Barcelona on Saturday and looks set to play a major role in Spain's World Cup bid.
The 25-year-old had been out of action since tearing a cruciate ligament in his knee in December but made a comeback when replacing Deco in his side's Primera Liga match at home to Cadiz.
It was initially thought the injury might sideline him for the rest of the season.
Xavi has spent all his footballing life at the Nou Camp, joining Barcelona when he was just 11 years old.
Xavi received a standing ovation from the Nou Camp faithful and his return to action is a serious boost to national team boss Luis Aragones hopes of landing Spain's first World Cup.
