Voronin suffers World Cup agony

28/06/2006: Ukraine striker Andriy Voronin is out of the World Cup after suffering a thigh injury during the win over Switzerland on Monday night.

The 26-year-old Bayer Leverkusen star will not line up against Italy in the quarter-finals on Friday because of the problem so former Tottenham record signing Serghi Rebrov is likely to start in Hambury.

A spokesmen for Ukraine said: "Andriy is distraught that the World Cup is over for him."
