Angola v Portugal Cologne Sunday June 11 5:00pm

The original stadium in Cologne - the Müngersdorfer Stadion - was completed in the 1920's and became a beacon for amateur sportsmen all over Germany. It has undergone various redevelopments including in the 1970's - but failed to complete work in time for the 1974 World Cup finals. The latest phase of construction - completed in 2004 - saw the stadium have a major refit with all the stands being replaced or improved and the running track removed to provide a more intimate experience. Cologne is one of Germany's most popular and cosmopolitan cites and the stadium, known now as the RheinEnergieStadion plays host to FC Koln. Its capacity is slightly below 50,000 for international matches. The Müngersdorfer has played host to some vital UEFA Cup matches. In the 1988 UEFA Cup, Barcelona played Bayer Leverkusen while Monaco played Galatasaray in the 1989 UEFA Cup.
