Van Basten rejects rift talk
16/06/2006: Netherlands coach Marco van Basten has dismissed rumours that some of his players have fallen out and divided the squad.
Holland have suffered at previous major tournaments due to a number of high-profile bust-ups between the players.
Robin van Persie was critical of Arjen Robben following the opening 1-0 victory over Serbia and Montenegro, despite the Chelsea man scoring the decisive goal, and it has been suggested that it has led to divisions in the squad.
However, van Basten has rejected the speculation and insists the players are pulling in the same direction.
