Shev reveals fitness fears
11/06/2006: Captain Andriy Shevchenko has hinted he may miss Ukraine's World Cup 2006 clash with Spain on Wednesday as he continues to battle a knee injury.
The Chelsea striker sustained the problem while playing for AC Milan last season but looked on course to be fit for his nation's World Cup opener having featured as a substitute in a warm-up game against Luxembourg.
However, Shevchenko believes his fitness may not sufficient enough to take on the Spanish in Leipzig.
He said: "I'm working with the squad and I'm feeling quite good. This period is important for me as I have to work to get in better shape. Possibly not for the first match but for the ones after.
