Walcott and Rooney boost England

12/06/2006: England say Theo Walcott will be fit to take his place on the bench against Trinidad & Tobago while Wayne Rooney could also figure.

Walcott was forced to limp out of training on Sunday after taking a kick to his calf which sparked fears he could have to sit out the second Group B game on Thursday.

England officials have since moved to play down the injury and say the Arsenal youngster will return to training later in the week before taking his place on the bench against Trinidad.

Meanwhile, boss Sven-Goran Eriksson says he
is 'optimistic' Rooney could play some part on Thursday despite only returning to full training last week following his broken foot.
