Strikers in form in Germany
08/05/2006: With just a week to go before the final 23 names are sent to Fifa headquarters two Korean players were in scoring form for their German club sides.
Ahn Jung-hwan was on target for Duisberg in their game against Armenia Bielefeld that they eventually won 2-0.
Over at Frankfurt Cha Du-ri scored his team's only goal in a 1-1 draw against Dortmund. Both players were members of the 2002 Korean World Cup squad and both are in the minds of assistant coach Pim Verbeek.
"If they were playing in K-League, they would certainly be on the active roster," he said to Donga.
"Both showed fantastic performances in 2002."
While Ahn Jung-hwan was scoring his second goal in a week, Cha Du-ri was scoring only his third goal of the season and his first for seven months.
