Striker happy to move in summer

26/04/2006: Soca Warriors star Stern John could be on his way out from his club side Coventry City if his performances in Fifa World Cup 2006 attract bids from bigger clubs.

The forward is an integral part of Trinidad and Tobago's World Cup bid forming an exciting partnership with star player Dwight Yorke.

The 29-year-old has scored 9 goals this season for the Midlands club and although happy enough at the Ricoh Arena would not rule a move if his exploits make him a target for a summer move.

He said: "I'm not going to turn my back on them (Coventry). It would have to be something you can't resist to move on.

"If something like that came up, then I hope Coventry wouldn't stand in my way, because I would like the opportunity to play in the top division again."

Previously with Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest, John made his name in the MSL in the United States where he became the first player to score three hat-tricks in a regular season.

A prolific scorer at international level he first represented his country at the age of 17.
