Spain coach snubs Henry

26/06/2006: Spain coach Luis Aragones has revealed that he will not apologise to Thierry Henry for the racist comment he made two years ago.

The 67-year-old was attempting to psyche up Spain striker Jose Reyes in a live televised training session in October 2004 when he was heard to tell the Arsenal man that he was 'better than that black s***', referring to Reyes' Arsenal team-mate Henry.
The veteran tactician was fined £2,000 for his outburst but kept his job when many in the sport felt he should have been sacked for the comments.

Henry responded by launching an anti-racism 'Stand Up, Speak Out' campaign but has not had the chance to speak to Aragones face-to-face since the incident.

Asked if he would seek out the French hit-man and issue an apology, Aragones was quick to respond, saying: "No, no, don't go down that road.

"Henry knows positively, through Reyes, through everything. I won't talk about it for another second. It isn't worth talking about."

The two sides face each other on Tuesday evening in Hanover with the winners set to face the winners of the Brazil-Ghana clash.
