Simic wants move

09/04/2006: Croatian international Dario Simic wants to leave AC Milan and preferably before the World Cup Finals.

The 30-year-old defender has had limited chances this season under coach Carlo Ancelotti firstly through injury but latterly through non-selection.

Capped 75 times by Croatia and part of the team that finished third in the 1998 finals Simic has played just 13 times this season in the league and appeared in just two Champions League games.

"I think I deserve more respect than I have had recently.

"I have already informed Mr. Galliani [the club Chairman] that I want to leave, I've come back from an injury and I'm completely healthy and fit again.

"The coach even doesn't want me as a back up for Jaap Stam, so I think it's best I pack my bags."

It is reported Simic has asked his agent to find him another club as soon as possible but his movement may be limited due to the transfer window regulations.

Simic joined Milan in the summer of 2002 after a two-year stint at rivals Inter.
