Shevchenko decision imminent

20/05/2006: Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko says he will make a decision next week as to whether he will move to Chelsea or stay with AC Milan after the World Cup.

The 29-year-old, who will captain Ukraine in the World Cup, has been at the centre of massive speculation over the last couple of months with Jose Mourinho making him his main transfer target.

Shevchenko's current contract at the San Siro is due to expire in June 2009 although the Serie A giants have offered him a new two-year extension.

The striker had indicated in the past that he would be happy to stay with Milan but has recently suggested that he would be keen on playing his football in England.

Andriy Shevchenko said to Gazzetta dello Sport: "I'm considering it and you will know my decision on the 24th or 25th May.

"I never said I had made my mind up to go to Chelsea. I just said that I was thinking about it for family reasons."

The hitman is married to American model Kristen Pazik, who is believed to be keen on a move to England get photographed alot and chased constantly by the paparazzi.
