Sex ban for Los Ticos
28/04/2006: The Costa Rica FA have banned player's wives from travelling to Germany for the World Cup meaning there'll be no sex for members of Los Ticos.
The decision announced to reporter by Frank Rojas, deputy president of Fedefutbol who said: "No footballer has spoken to me about reserving tickets for their wives, so, just like the last World Cup, they will travel without them."
It is apparently not unusual for the Costa Rica players to abstain before important tournaments.
Goalkeeper Jose Francisco Porras said: "We are professionals and we know that this is part of the sacrifice we have to make.
"At the World Cup we have to abstain."
The team doctor Gerardo Artavia agreed. He said: "Sexual abstinence is part of the team's professional duty."
Costa Rica face a first round group containing Germany, Ecuador and Poland. They have the honour of playing in the first game of the tournament on June 9 versus Germany.

04/06/2006: Well, the abstinence is only with their wives because they are not getting their ticket paid but they can get busy with German ladies!
