Zokora sees red as Elephants share spoils
31/05/2006: Poor finishing meant Ivory Coast had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Chile in their latest World Cup warm-up match in France.
The Africans played good football throughout but failed to convert some clear cut chances.
They went ahead mid-way through the second half from the penalty spot courtesy of Aruna Dindane but saw the lead cancelled out seven minutes later when Humberto Suazo scored for Chile, also from the spot.
The game was marred by the sending off of Didier Zokora for two yellow cards.
Arsenal and Ivory Coast defender Kolo Touré was pleased with the performance and not too worried about Zokora's dismissal.
"It's useful to play against Chile because they play like a South American side and it will stand us in good stead against Argentina," he said.
"The pitch was very slippery with a lot of rain. Didier's a very good football player. He will be fine at the World Cup."
Ivory Coast face Uruguay on June 4 in their last World Cup friendly before having to face a tough group when the finals start on June 9. Their group contains Argentina, Holland and Serbia.
