Scolari would bet on close clash

25/06/2006: Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari believes that his side's last-16 clash against Holland will be a tight encounter.

The Euro 2004 runners up play Holland in Nuremberg on Sunday evening in a game that will see two of Europe's most stylish teams go head-to-head.

Portugal have a good record against the Dutch and beat them on their way to the final of the last European Championships.

However, Scolari is not using past results to predict how thec second-round clash will go and believes that the match could go all the way to spot kicks.

He said: "The two teams are exceedingly well matched and I cannot see either side winning by more than one goal. It would be no surprise if the game went to extra-time or penalties."
