Scolari declares squad fully fit

07/06/2006: Portugal have declared a fully fit squad ahead of their opening World Cup match against Angola on June 11.

The Felipe Scolari led squad take on the World Cup newcomers in their first fixture in Cologne on Monday, and have received promising news over injury concerns Luis Boa Morte and the experienced Nuno Gomes.

"We have no muscle injuries, no muscle complaints," read a team statement.

"The preventative programme for injuries has worked up until now and we are pleased with that."

Both Nuno Gomes and Boa Morte missed the friendly fixtures against Luxembourg and the Cape Verde Islands through injury but after recovering well, Gomes is expected to start the game alongside Pauleta.
