Rooney red was right Johansson
07/07/2006: Uefa president Lennart Johansson has joined his Fifa counterpart Sepp Blatter in backing the referee who sent off Wayne Rooney.
The Manchester United striker saw red in the World Cup quarter-final clash with Portugal on Saturday and could discover the length of his ban today ahead of England's Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.
Argentinian official Horacio Elizondo - who will take charge of the World Cup final between Italy and France - dismissed Rooney for tangling with defender Ricardo Carvalho and Johansson insists it was the right decision.
