Ronaldo targets another final

28/06/2006: Brazil star Ronaldo is delighted to become the all-time World Cup leading goalscorer but insists his main target is to reach the final.

The Real Madrid striker scored the opening goal in Brazil's 3-0 win over Ghana on Tuesday to take his World Cup tally to 15, overtaking German legend Gerd Muller.

After receiving major criticism from the media for his weight and lack of form at the start of the tournament, Ronaldo has come into his own and helped fire the defending champions into the last eight.

The 29-year-old said: "It's a great satisfaction to make this record, but let's not forget our main objective is to reach the final. The players are very confident and our team is meeting our goals.

"I sensed I had to trick the goalie somehow. I figured it would complicate things if I kept the ball too long so I decided to do that dribble around the Ghana goalkeeper.

"I hope they continue falling for my tricks up to the final."
