Poland beat Croatia
04/06/2006: Poland and Croatia matched each other in their latest friendly fixture but the Poles edged the game 1-0 thanks to a goal from Euzebiusz Smolarek.
Croatia dominated the first half but could not convert their chances while the Polish side had the better of the second culminating in their goal in the 54th minute from a Zurawski corner.
Lambasted by home fans during a game in midweek coach Pawel Janas was much happy with the performance.
Janas said: "The team played much better today, maybe still not quite like it should, but definitely better.
"But, we can still fix every element of our football game."
Despite the score, Croatia boss Zlatko Kranjcar insisted that he was pleased with his team's performance and that it would help them prepare for the competition.
"We were the dominant team on the ground. It was a good match to see where we stand and what we have to improve," said Kranjcar.
