Hatem Trabelsi
07/04/2006: Despite injury problems, there is still life left in the 'Tunsian Cafu', Hatem Trabelsi.
Qualifying from Africa proved to be a tall task during this campaign, but under the leadership of Trabelsi, Tunisia triumphed.
The 29-year-old Tunisian captain started his career at the Tunisian side CS Sfaxien, before being spotted by Ajax's eagle-eyed scouts.
Since his move to the Dutch club in 2001, the right back has played on the club game's greatest stage, the Champions League.
After a dispute with Ajax, Trabelsi now looks to be heading to Roma this summer, after interest from both Tottenham and Arsenal.
Tunisia are the only African team who made the last World Cup in Japan and Korea to earn an appearance in this summer's tournament in Germany.
And it took a dramatic turnaround during their qualifying campaign to oust arch rivals Morocco from the top spot of their qualifying group.
Now the African champions head for their third consecutive World Cup finals.
Despite only having won only a solitary match in their World Cup career, Trabelsi and co will be planning to change that come their opening World Cup fixture against Saudi Arabia in Munich on June 14th.
