Mateja Kezman
07/04/2006: So much was expected from Kezman after his record-breaking spell at Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, but his big money move to Chelsea seemed to weigh the Serbia and Montenegro striker down.
His tally of 15 goals in 27 games was impressive enough during his first season with PSV, but then Kezman simply could not stop scoring, notching up an incredible 35 goals in 33 games the following season and then 31 goals in 29 games in the season before his Chelsea move.
The move to the English champions was accompanied by a dramatic loss of form, with Mateja only managing four goals in his 25 games during his only season with the club.
The same pressure shows no sign of dampening his international form however, as he rattled in five goals during Serbia and Montenegro's undefeated qualifying campaign.
Best of all for coach Ilija Petkovic's men, they secured an unlikely group victory with a 1-0 home win against arch rivals Bosnia-Herzegovina. It was Kezman who came up trumps again, scoring in the seventh minute.
Now at Atletico Madrid, the whole of Serbia and Montenegro will be hoping the 27-year-old can cope with the intense scrutiny that accompanies the World Cup and help them progress.
