Arjen Robben
13/04/2006: Described by Tottenham boss Martin Jol as the best player to be produced by Holland since the great Johan Cryuff, midfielder Arjen Robben is certainly a very exciting player to watch.
After joining English champions Chelsea for £12 million in the summer of 2004 from PSV, Arjen has not always featured in the starting line-up.
Indeed, rumours did emerge that Arjen might be on his way to join fellow Dutchman Jol at Spurs.
Those reports turned out to be false, however and Robben has fought for his place at Chelsea.
At only 22, Robben has time on his side to prove to the world that he is a truly great attacking midfielder. He is quick and has exceptional ball control, giving him the ability to go past defenders and create chances.
Can he do it under the intense pressure of top-flight football? The World Cup is a perfect opportunity for him to prove he can.
His Holland side has become much fancied in some quarters, but they have found themselves in a "group of death" containing Argentina, Serbia and Montenegro and the Ivory Coast. Ironically it was Holland who put the death into the group.
