Robinho
20/04/2006: Being labelled as the next big thing to come out of Brazil, it is unsurprising that Robinho struggled with the expectation when he came to play in Europe.
Arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu to play for Real Madrid was also very tough - the biggest club in the world had hit a trough in their form and were being outclassed by arch rivals Barcelona.
The smile that Robinho had played with while home in Brazil playing for Santos was nowhere to be seen for the first few months, as a misfiring Madrid side was not a happy place to be playing football.
Recent performances have shown signs of changing, however, and after a few cracking goals in la liga, Robinho has displayed his momentous talents to the Madridistas.
He plays just behind the strikers and has a whole host of tricks up his sleeve. Despite some pundits believing he is too light-weight to become a true world great, Brazilians like nothing more than showing off at the World Cup.
And when Robinho is playing well, he is one of the best players in the world to watch.
