Yasser Al Qahtani
18/04/2006: Pressure is mounting on the young shoulders of Saudi striker Yasser Al Qahtani after the 23-year-old's record-breaking move from Al-Qadissiya to Saudi Arabia's biggest team, Al-Hilal.
Qualification proved extremely straight forward for Saudi Arabia this time round, having had to battle through a play off against Australia to make it to the last World Cup.
His Saudi Arabia side went through qualification undefeated and managed to beat the 2002 semi finalists South Korea home and away.
It was in the first game with South Korea that Yasser showed his worth to the team, setting up the first goal and winning a penalty, converting it himself.
This summer's tournament in Germany will be the fourth World Cup in a row for the Asian team, but they will have to improve on their record to have any chance of progressing. They have only managed one point in the last two tournaments.
Their coach, Brazilian Marcos Paqueta, has introduced some attacking know-how into his team, which should help Yasser Al Qahtani.
Their first match is against Tunisia in Munich and they must do better than the 8-0 humiliation they suffered against Germany in their opener of the 2002 tournament.
