Parreira weary of Ghana
26/06/2006: Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira says his side will not be underestimating the threat that Ghana pose in their last 16 clash.
The African nation caused something of an upset as they saw off the challenge of the Czech Republic and USA to finish runners up in Group E behind Italy.
Many pundits are of the opinion that Brazil will have too much for The Black Stars but Parreira says they have to be given respect after what they have achieved so far.
"They have always been skillful technically but have improved a lot because they have lost their innocence," he said. "Their football is much more professional now.
"We respect Ghana who are technically a very good team.
"They have just played two very good games especially against the Czechs. To get to the last 16 of the World Cup shows they are a good team.
"We are now entering a difficult phase of the competition where if you lose a game you go home.
"Of course we take into account our opponents and we respect them and must analyse them but the main focus for us is to concentrate on our own game and ensure we play the way we want to.
