Owen denies Sven rift
18/06/2006: Michael Owen has revealed that he and Sven Goran Eriksson have had a chat and there is no problem between them.
It was being suggested that the Newcastle striker and Swedish tactician had fallen out over Owen's two performances so far in the tournament, but the 26-year-old has moved swiftly to refute those reports.
He said: "I won't stand in front of you and lie and say I have been delighted to come off in both games.
"But the reports that I had a row with Sven are untrue. The manager spoke to the team as a whole and I then had a little chat with his assistant Steve McClaren as well."
