Olic out as Croatia name team
12/06/2006: Croatia striker Ivica Olic will miss the opening game against Brazil after losing his battle to recover from a thigh injury.
The striker picked up the injury during the warm-up defeat against Poland last Saturday and it was hoped he would be declared fit to face the current World Champions on Tuesday night.
However, coach Zlatko Kranjcar has named his side for the game and has not included Olic after admitting he is not willing to risk him. Kranjcar feels the player could aggravate the injury and wants him 100 percent fit before he returns.
Croatia line-up: Pletikosa, Simic, R Kovac, Simunic, Srna, Tudor, N Kovac, Babic, Kranjcar, Klasnic, Prso.
