Nesta return boosts Azzurri
10/06/2006: Italy coach Marcello Lippi's prayers have been answered after Alessandro Nesta shook off a muscle injury ahead of the clash with Ghana.
AC Milan defensive lynchpin Nesta's build-up to the game has been hampered by the problem and he has not trained properly since Tuesday.
However, with Gianluca Zambrotta and Gennaro Gattuso already ruled out, Lippi was desperate for the 30-year-old to recover.
The 2006 World Cup is Nesta's sixth major tournament, a run stretching back to Euro 96 in England.
