Muntari admits Trotters approach

27/06/2006: Ghana international midfielder Sulley Muntari has confirmed Bolton are showing an interest with a view to making a swoop.

The highly-rated midfielder has impressed during the World Cup and was one of the key figures for Ghana as they made it through to the second round before going down 3-0 against Brazil.

Wanderers have been strongly linked with a move for the Udinese player and some reports have gone as far as suggesting boss Sam Allardyce is on the verge of making a £7million bid.

Allardyce is armed with his biggest transfer kitty yet but it remains to be seen whether he would be willing to go as high as £7million on a midfielder, especially one that is still relatively unproven.

Even so Muntari confirmed Wanderers are interested when telling the Italian press: "There are lots of clubs who have contacted Udinese over my signature and that includes Bolton in England."
