McBride not bitter

19/06/2006: Brian McBride says he holds no grudge against Daniele De Rossi despite receiving a cut after being elbowed by the Italian.

The veteran USA striker had to have stitches in his facial cut after being on the end of a seemingly deliberate elbow during Saturday's 1-1 draw.
De Rossi ended up receiving his marching orders and he has since offered a public apology for his actions.

However, McBride says there are no hard feelings and he was more than happy to accept the Roma midfielder's apology at the end of the game.

He said: "He was classy and apologised right after the game."

Meanwhile speaking about the effects of the injury he continued: "I'm fortunate that I don't have a lot of feeling in my face because the nerves are all dead from previous operations.

"I've had two lots of plastic surgery around my eyes.

"You get hit and you get back up. I've broken all the bones in my face, just from playing football."
