Maurito boost for Angola
12/05/2006: Leading Angola forward Maurito has made a quicker than expected recovery from injury and is hoping to play his return game on Friday.
The United Arab Emirates-based frontman is due to play for his club Al Wahda in a league match against Al Ain on Friday and if proving his fitness is expected to be named when Angola's coach Luis Oliveira Goncalves announces his final 23-man squad for the World Cup finals on Sunday.
It was originally thought Maurito had broken his leg but scans revealed the injury less serious.
The 24-year-old has scored three times in 15 appearances for Angola.
Angola play Portugal Iran and Mexico the World Cup finals in Germany.
