Malouda desperate to play

17/06/2006: France winger Florent Malouda has revealed he has fully recovered from an operation and is desperate to play in the World Cup.

The Lyon star was absent from his country's opening Group G game against Switzerland due to a mystery injury but he has now revealed he was unfortunately suffering from piles and needed an operation.

However he insists he is now fully fit and ready to help his country shake off their disappointing 0-0 draw against Switzerland and progress into the second round.

"I'd never had that before and it was not the best time to have it, but it's over now and I'm absolutely fine," said Malouda. "I underwent surgery in Germany last week.

"I've got pins and needles in my legs. I just can't wait to play."
