Lucic calls for Swedish calm

14/06/2006: Teddy Lucic has urged his Sweden team-mates to put their personal troubles behind them ahead of the crunch clash against Paraguay.

The Scandinavians suffered a shock goalless draw with World Cup minnows Trinidad and Tobago in their opening game which caused Fredrik Ljungberg and Olof Mellberg to clash in the dressing room after the game, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic was also involved in an altercation with Tobias Linderoth.

A number of senior players decided to organise a squad get-together following the training session on Tuesday to try and iron out any differences and Lucic now hopes that the players have put it all behind them to focus on the crucial clash with Paraguay in Berlin on Thursday.

"We have now discussed the bust-up and put it behind us," Lucic told Sportbladet.

"We now need to concentrate on the Paraguay match ahead of us. That is the most important thing and that we stand united as a team."

Sweden need to regroup and get a positive result against the South Americans, otherwise they find themselves facing an early exit with their final match against England.
