Koller confident ahead of Cup

02/05/2006: Czech Republic striker Jan Koller looks set to be fit enough to compete in Fifa World Cup 2006.

The giant striker has been out of action through torn cruciate knee ligaments since October but returned on Sunday when he played a reserve team game for Borrusia Dortmund.

"I am satisfied," said Koller,

"Physically, I do not have any more problems. If anything, I simply lack the match practice."

The international who has only played in two competitive games this season believes he could be fit to face Hannover next week in a Bundesliga clash.

"After training, we must sit down with the doctor and the coach and make a decision," said Koller. "There is a possibility that I will be there."

He is the all-time leading goal scorer for the Czech Republic having scored over 40 goals in just over 60 appearances.

At 2.02 m Koller will be one of the tallest players at the World Cup - even taller than England's Peter Crouch.
