Klinsmann backs Ballack
29/06/2006: Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann feels Michael Ballack's leadership skills are key to the hosts beating Argentina in the quarter-finals.
Klinsmann named Ballack as his skipper when he was handed the national team managerial position and believes Chelsea's new acquisition has a major part to play in driving the team forward.
The German coach stated: "Ballack over the last two years has helped tremendously to make this team grow.
"He is a leader on the field with what he does playing-wise, but also behind the scenes he is of tremendous importance."
