Mohamed Kader

13/06/2006: Before the World Cup Mohamed Kader was best remembered as the player who scored the goal against Ghana that secured Togo their first ever African Cup of Nations match in 1998.

From 2006 Mohamed Kader will be remembered as the first Togo player to score for his nation in a World Cup finals against South Korea scoring a well-taken effort in the first half.

The striker has featured in three African Nation's Cup finals to date including Togo's disappointing tournament in 2006.

He began his career at Etoile Filante de Lome before moving to Parma in Italy in 1998. Kader enjoyed a frustrating time in Italy and spent much of his time out on loan in Switzerland and Egypt.

While at Servette in 2003/4 he scored 19 goals in 35 games and was voted the best Togolese player playing aboard.

The 27-year-old was in recent scoring form when netting in Togo's recent win against Liechtenstein.

Mohamed Kader currently plies his trade for Guingamp in France but from now on he will be remembered as the scorer of Togo's first World Cup goal.

And what a goal it was….
