Jack: I'm alright for finals

09/04/2006: Soca Warriors' number one Kelvin Jack has denied reports he will miss out on this year's World Cup.

A Scottish newspaper last week quoted Dundee manager Alan Kernaghan as saying the keeper would miss the rest of the season with a recurrence of a knee injury and was likely to miss the World Cup.

Jack has been an ever-present in coach Leo Beenhakker's national team starting line-up in qualifying for World Cup 2006.

"It is just astounding how a story could be blown way out of proportion," said the 29-year-old to the Trinidad Express.

"I am fine and I am ready to defend my country if selected and look forward to the World Cup.

"I've had tendonitis in my left knee so the manager has told me to rest it until the end of the season.

"Dundee have nothing to play for at the moment."

Jack may have played his last game for Dundee with his contract ending in May and he will be hoping he can impress watching scouts at this summer's finals.
