Injury rocks Sweden

23/05/2006: Sweden's hopes of qualifying out of England's group suffered a massive blow on Tuesday with the news Freddie Ljungberg may be unavailable to play.

The Arsenal midfielder has been playing through the pain barrier for his club side and has been advised by his national squad doctor Anders Valentin to give his foot as much rest as possible.

"He would need to rest for four weeks to completely recover," said Valentin.

"He might not be completely without symptoms throughout the tournament."

As well as England, Sweden must also play Trinidad and Tobago and Paraguay in the first three matches of the World Cup.
