Injury boost for Eagles

25/05/2006: Midfielder Hamed Namouchi will be fit to play for Tunisia when the Eagles of Carthage attempt to progress from the World Cup group stages for the first time in their history.

The 22-year-old Glasgow Rangers player suffered an ankle ligament injury in an Under-21 encounter with Livingston in April, having not played for the first team since the Champions League game against Villareal in March.

After intensive medical treatment in Glasgow and France, Namouchi has returned to full training with the Eagles Of Carthage and is set to play in their next warm-up against Belarus on May 30.

Impressive during his nation's qualification, Namouchi was signed by Glasgow Rangers from Cannes in 2004.

Tunisia's first World Cup game is against Saudi Arabia in Munich on Wednesday, June 14 followed by matches against Spain and Ukraine.
