Ince eyes World Cup call
27/04/2006: Although not guaranteed a World Cup starting place, Soca Warriors keeper Clayton Ince is looking forward to the World Cup in Germany in June.
The Soca Warriors star has struggled to secure a place in English Championship side Coventry City this season, but still feels he can play a part if called upon for Trinidad and Tobago's first World Cup appearance.
"I'm delighted, just like any player would be, and I'm looking forward to the World Cup now - not just as a member of the squad but as being part of the team." Ince told the PA.
"It would have been a big disappointment if I'd been left out.
"But I played a big part in the early stages of qualification, if not the latter stages, and being a part of helping the team qualify for the finals is an achievement in itself."
Ince faces stiff competition for the number one jersey, with both Ross Jack and Shaka Hislop vying for the spot, but is remaining focused on Germany in case his chance comes.
He added: "Now the season is winding down here in England I can really begin to start focusing and preparing for going to Germany."
