Honours even in Croatia
29/05/2006: A last-minute Marko Babic penalty ensured Croatia drew 2-2 with Iran in a World Cup friendly game in the capital Belgrade.
Dado Prso had earlier equalised an Ali Karimi opener in the first half before substitute Arash Borhani put TeamMelli ahead in the 82nd minute.
"It's not a bad test. We dominated and could have scored many more goals," said Croatia coach Zlatko Kranjcar.
In a tense game driving rain did not help matters but the huge crowd showed its appreciation of the Croatian side who fly out shortly for Germany.
Iran will complete its World Cup preparations playing a friendly with Bosnia and one against a local German.
Iran coach Branko Ivankovic was Croatia's assistant when they reached the semi-finals in 1998.
"We were close to winning even though there are still some things we need to work on," Ivankovic said.
"I am satisfied with the way my players performed in this tough game against a tough rival."
