Harry happy in Liverpool

12/05/2006: Socceroo Harry Kewell has denied rumours he is set to leave Liverpool after World Cup 2006 and join Spanish side Valencia.

Reports in Spain have suggested the La Liga outfit are chasing the signature of the Australia international, and that Liverpool would be willing to let him leave.

Kewell has enjoyed his most productive season at Anfield since his multi-million pound move from Leeds United in 2003, earning a regular starting place and being receiving glowing reports from manager Rafa Benitez.

The 27-year-old was cool on the growing speculation, insisting he has had no approach from Valencia and that he is happy to remain at Anfield for the time being.

Kewell said: "I think if you read over the last months half the things I have been linked with and doing then I don't think I would be here at all.

"So you cannot believe everything you see in the papers. If they come to see me and speak to me or speak to the boss hopefully it's all rubbish.

"From my side it is and, hopefully, from Liverpool's it is as well."

Kewell is expected to play a major role in Australia's World Cup bid and was named this week alongside seven other Premiership players in the Socceroos' World Cup squad.

Australia's odds in the betting for World Cup 2006 is currently 160 (159/1) with leading betting exchange Betfair.
