Ghana draw with German giants

27/04/2006: Ghana came through the first of their World Cup 2006 warm-ups on Wednesday night, drawing 1-1 against German Bundesliga club Stuttgart.

The Black Stars, weakened by a raft of club commitments, took the lead on the hour mark when German-based Otto Addo converted a Haminu Dramani cross after the midfielder had made a powerful run into the Stuttgart box.

They were unable to add to their lead despite a number of chances and had to settle for honours even as the German side levelled courtesy of former Newcastle United striker Jon Dahl Tomasson.

The game was marred by a serious injury to Brentford striker Lloyd Owusu who now looks set to miss out on the return trip to Germany.
