Gerrard slams Ronaldo role
03/07/2006: Steven Gerrard has criticised Cristiano Ronaldo for his part in Wayne Rooney's sending off in the quarter final defeat to Portugal.
Referee Horatio Elizondo sent-off Rooney in the early stages of the second half of the game in Gelsenkirchen, but appeared to dismiss him after Portugal complained about his tackle on Ricardo Carvalho.
The Liverpool skipper said: "If it was one of my team-mates, I'd be absolutely disgusted in him because there's no need for that.
"I've seen Ronaldo going over giving the card and I think he's bang out of order."
Television cameras also caught Ronaldo winking at the Portuguese dugout after Rooney's sending off, with Gerrard adding: "I think that sums him up as a person."

04/07/2006: Both sides were farcical in my opinion neither of them deserved to win.Rooney is a looser and showed the nation up and Ronaldo was just a spoiled brat.I think that anyone fighting and acting like spoiled children in what should be an adult game should be banned from playing in the world cup next time.No need to act like that it is well out of order!
