Gabriel Heinze
02/06/2006: Argentina will be boosted by the news that their excellent left back Gabriel Heinze is back to full fitness and ready for their World Cup campaign.
Heinze's return will also please Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson, who has been without the highly-rated left back since he picked up a serious ligament injury in the Champions League against Villarreal way back in September, a team that contains many of Gabriel's Argentine team mates.
The 28-year-old Heinze won many admirers with his no-nonsense style shown for his Manchester United performances.
Bought for £6.9 million from Spanish side Valladolid, Heinze's move to Europe wasn't as traumatic as some, as he has a German father and Italian mother. He also has the rare talent of being able to speak Welsh.
His tackling is top quality, as he seems to have immaculate timing. Critics will be watching him closely to see how quickly this match sharpness returns to his game in Germany.
His return is the second piece of good fortune for the Argentineans, after the news that Lionel Messi will also be at full fitness for the tournament.
