Freddie Ljungberg

05/05/2006: When England face up to Sweden for their last group game in Cologne on June 20th, one player they will know all about is Arsenal's Freddie Ljungberg.

Ljungberg was reportedly signed by Arsene Wenger after the Frenchman saw him on television, during Sweden's surprise 2-1 victory over England in 1998.

Despite coming from BK Halmstad in Sweden, he seemed to adapt quickly to the step up in quality when he arrived in the Premiership.

Freddie has had a difficult season this time round, failing to score the number of important goals he grabbed during the last campaign.

The attacking midfielder has had injury problems, but seems to be coming into form just in time for the summer.

Many are predicting that his side will make it through the group stages, but if they are to overcome their odds of 28 to one to win the competition, Freddie will certainly have to contribute to the goal tally.
