The coach has taken a gamble and left out prolific striker David Trezeguet from his squad, replacing him with the relatively unknown St Etienne forward Bafetimbi Gomis, who turned down a chance to play for Senegal in order to play in Euro 2008 and you can bet that he will want to repay the coaches faith in him by scoring the goals that take France through to the knockout stages.
