Mystery injury for midfield ace

10/06/2006: Midfielder Florent Malouda looks set to miss France's opening World Cup game against Switzerland, after picking up a mystery injury.

The fitness of the 25-year-old Lyon star is still unclear after team doctors failed to state the reason for his absence from training and gave no indication as to whether he will be available to face Switzerland on Monday.

Malouda was absent from Friday's training session, as he was undergoing continuing treatment.

Prior to the finals Coach Raymond Domenech said that no information on the players' medical condition during the tournament would be made available to the media.
