Coach remains positive

14/06/2006: Costa Rica coach Alexander Guimaraes believes his side can still qualify for the knock-out stage, despite their 4-2 loss to Germany.

Costa Rica face Poland and Ecuador in their remaining two group games and, whilst Guimaraes knows his side face a tough challenge to pick up maximum points, he remains optimistic.

Guimaraes said: "Our hopes are still very high, the team will get better and we'll keep our chances alive. If we keep playing like that we've got every chance of beating Ecuador and Poland. Ecuador is not a team that would put pressure on you, so we have to block them and attack them."
